Butterflies Alive! Exhibit

The SB Natural History Museum - June 2007

During the last week of June Alana and Tyler decided to check out the annual butterfly exhibit at the Santa Barbara Natural Histoy Museum. There were hundreds of butterflie eveywhere and if you stood still long enough they would even land on you. Alana had a great time watching them, but Tyler was a little too active for them to get near him. He couldn't stay till long enough for them to land and then when they would get close he would freak out and wave his hands around to shoo them away. Oh well, maybe next time.

After the museum they went over to Chase Palm Park across from the beach and had lunch near the duck pond. Tyler was going to go on the carousel there, but decided that the Union Pacific train roaring past the park was much more interesting.

Just a small sampling of the butterflies at the exhibit.

Butterflies love the sugar in watermelon and fruit.

The butterfly enclosure.

Action shot.

Tyler doing this best to stay still and calm. Not easy for an active 3-year-old..

That's about as close as Tyler would get.

Mom, are you taking my picture again? I'm eating here!
